My dad’s hobby was his garden. He would work his day job in the morning and spend most of his afternoons tending to the fruits and vegetables my mom would prepare for lunch and dinner.
He was an organic [bio] gardener before we had a word for it. He was against using any chemicals.
We lived in the country. We did not have garbage pick-up, so recycling and composting was the way of life. My mom taught me the love of healthy cooking, that I carried with me through the years.
With every great meal goes a great bottle of wine. My family has been in the wine business over 4 generations. Traveling is just as much about the destination than the experience of the culture through food and wine.
Today, I buy organic whole food as much as possible, and find great pleasures in trying new recipes. They don’t always turn out good, but when they do, they do!
